Words That Work.
That is a frequent challenge, right?
Words that effectively tell your story, or sell your products or services?
If that’s in fact what you’re after, then you’ve arrived at the right place.
They say you can learn a lot about someone by peeking inside that person’s medicine cabinet. Maybe so; I couldn’t say, because I’ve never done it. Instead, I think you can learn a lot about people by knowing some of their favorite quotes. It’s therefore only fair that I give you three of mine, but only one for now.
“The difference between the almost right word and the right word is really a large matter—’tis the difference between the lightning-bug and the lightning.”
That’s Mark Twain’s handiwork, and it pretty much sums up what I spend my days attempting to do.
Here’s the strange part: I’m equally at home with getting a six-word headline just right, and with writing a 120,000-word autobiography of a billionaire. It’s all about pursuing those just-right words that work for the task at hand.
On the long end of the word spectrum, I’ve written or ghostwritten 13 books, two of which were for billionaires, and two were for multi-billion-dollar companies. In all these cases, they sought me out to write the books. Three of the books I wrote have become Amazon #1 bestsellers, not in some obscure category like “Books–>Health, Fitness & Dieting–>Beauty, Grooming & Style–>Men’s Grooming & Style” but across all books in all categories of Amazon. In some ways this is easier than being a New York Times bestseller, but in some ways it’s harder. You can find out more here.
On the short end of the word spectrum, I’ve worked with many dozens of clients around the world to improve their website conversions. I’ve had 68 documented, split-tested wins where the average increase in conversions was 27.4%, representing an average annualized revenue increase of more than $615,000. Sometimes this was due to changing only a headline! Other times it was the result of deleting something from a page. You can find out more here.
Of course I know nothing about you, so I can’t make many promises at this stage, except for one: on this website, you’re entering a B.S.-free zone. You’ll hear no hype or gimmicks. Just straight talk about how to find the words that will do the most work toward your goals.
I hope you find this site useful.
Regards,
